Ornamental birds are considered one of the most famous birds that are raised in homes. Waking up to their sounds is a beautiful thing that gives a person a feeling of joy, happiness and comfort. Many children love to own and raise this type of bird, while others raise them for trade, meaning they are bought and cared for until they reproduce and are then kept. There are different types of ornamental birds, each of which has characteristics that make it unique from the other types, as follows:

  • First: nuthatches

  1. This type of bird is called by many names, the most prominent of which are the hybrid, the vulture, and the milli, and what distinguishes it is that it is sterile and unable to lay eggs and reproduce.

  2. The weight of this type of bird ranges between fifteen and twenty grams, while its length is about thirteen centimetres.
  3. Canaries are characterized by their beautiful, attention-grabbing chirps. They also sing beautifully, and their feathers are of attractive colours.

Breeding ornamental birds

  • When raising this type of bird, it is recommended to choose a place that receives adequate sunlight in the early morning hours.
  • The size of the cage must be appropriate to the number of birds being raised inside it.
  • It is recommended to clean the cages regularly using soap and water, and then expose them to sunlight to eliminate all organisms and germs that may live in them
